Sunday 29th June Fundamentals
Tonight we started off with the Aeroplane Drills
1:Our Patner stuck out their arms, and ran towards us, so in order to not get hit we would have to duck under(or drop down), swing our right arm around their stomach,and come around to take their back.We would then push them away to start again over and over.
2:This time our partners would take a big right hand swing for our heads, and we would then duck down, and swing around like in Drill 1 to take the back.
3:Here we partner up in 3’s and like drill 2, the first person would take a big right hand swing and we would duck under and take the back, only this time we would push them into the 3rd person to create a bit of space.The 3rd person would then run in to take the right hand swing and we would duck under to take the back and push them into the 2nd person to create space.So we basically alternated between the 2 to take the big swing and we would have to defend ourselves over and over.
4:This time we moved back to 2 people pairing up and our partners would do the big right hand swing just like in drill 2.We would duck under and take the back,and tucking our head down(to avoid them hitting our face with the back of their head) swinging our right arm over their right shoulder bump our hips to off balance them and pull them to rest on our right leg for a few seconds, we then pull them to the mat into the knee ride position.Note(If the partner was considerably bigger than you, and it was hard to off balance them, kick them in the back of the right knee to off balance them)
5:Rear naked choke:Our patner was sitting back on their knees and we were kneeling behind them with our right arm over their right shoulder.We then tried to grab our own left shoulder,so that our arm was right around their neck,and their was little space or no space.We then brought our left hand right up into the air(making sure it was behing their head so they couldn’t grab it) and palm facing towards us bladed down in onto their neck and also squeezing our right arm until they tapped.
6:This time we put it all together by starting off with Drill 4, the only difference being when we took the back and off balanced them, we would pull them to the mat sitting them on their butt, and going into the Rear naked choke or knee ride
