Sunday The 17th of August Fundamentals
1:Tonight we started with Arm drag left and right where are partner is sitting in our open guard and has placed their arms on our stomach. We grabbed the right Gi cuff at the wrist and pulled it forward and over to our right side.We then swung our left hand over to grab the Lat.We then alternated from side to side.
2:Rear Naked choke:Here are partner is sitting on their knees facing forward and we are kneeling behind them.We swung our right arm around their neck and and grabbed our left shoulder or as close as we could possible get.We then raised our right arm right up(Being careful not to put it to far forward so our partner could grab it),and blade down(Palm flat) in between our face and the back of our partners head.We would then puff out our chest and squeeze tight until they tapped.
3:We put 1 & 2 together only this time when we went for the arm drag, we would swing our left leg over and claim the back and take hooks. From here we swung our left arm under to grab their forearm, and flattened them out by thrusting forward. We then swung our right arm under their neckto grab our left shoulder and go into the Rear naked choke.
4:Here we practiced Drill 1 again only this time they gripped our Lapel with their right hand, and it was really srong. We grabbed their right wrist at the cuff with our right hand, placed our left arm under to grab our own wrist, and ripped their hand up to break the grip.
5:Here we were in the open guard postion again but our partner would start back away.We would shoot our hips in and grabbed their left Lat with our left hand.We would drop our left leg and kick our right leg up,and roll over onto our left shoulder sweeping them over.
6:Same as Drill 5 only instead of sweeping them over we would spin them around in our open guard, swing our right arm over the neck and go for the rear naked choke.
7:Here our partner was postured in our open guard. We grabbed their right cuff with our left hand, and reached down to grab their Gi at the ankle with our right hand.We would then drop our left leg and kick our right leg up sweeping them over.
Thursday the 14th of August Fundamentals
1:Tonight we started with a drill of our partner kneeling on our hooks,we would lie on our backs, come up and get double underhooks, roll onto our back again and lift them up,come upgain and place them back down on the mat over and over.Point to note about being to far away:Scoot your butt in.
2:Same position as number one drill only this time they would grab out Gi pants at the knees. We would grip there right cuff with both hands ,lauch backto pull them forward past our right side.As an automatic reaction they would place there hands on the mat in order to avoid a face plant. We then used our left hand to grab under their left Lat.
3:Same start as postion 1 and 2 only this time instead of grabbing our Gi pants at the knee they would grab down at the ankle level. We would still grab at the cuff, but this time we would take our left leg out and kick it out to the back of the room as well as pull them forward like drill 2.We would then grab the Lat again
4:Same as drill 2 only this time we would leave our right hook in,take our left hook out and swing it over to take their back.Grab their left forearm with our left hand and pull forward to crush them down.
5:Here we have our partner in guard, and they have gone to pass by taking their left arm out to swing our right hip under their left shoulder. We still have control and firm grips on their right arm.We swing our right leg and chop it over the back of their neck,we then swung our left leg over the right trying to get the back of the knee over our right shin.If we had difficulty doing this we would try to grab the right leg above the ankle with our left hand.We then pulled their right arm towards our right side and bridged up waiting for the Tap from our partner. This is known as the Triangle from guard. Point to note.It is dangerous to grab the foot and not above the ankle as mentioned above.
6:Here we ran through drill 2 again only this time when we swung our left arm over their left lat, they would posture up and back away.We would just use our right hand to post on the mat and follow them
