Sunday the 17th of May Fundamentals

1:Tonight Geoff started with the Rear naked choke.Our partner was on their knees and we were behind them.We brought our right hand around and under their jaw to grab our left shoulder,so that the V of our arm was in their adams apple.Keeping our left hand behind so that our partner couldn’t grab it, we bladed our left hand between out face and the back of their neck(little finger down).Taking out all the space now,we pushed out our chest,until our partner tapped.

2:Same setup as drill 1 but this time we put out right hand on our partners left shoulder(instead of ours).Using this hand as a pivot now,we pulled it back towards us,so our forearm was across their adams apple,until our partner tapped.

3:Same drill as 2 but this time our partner used their hands and placed them on our forearm to pull our arm down(trying to create space).As they did this we pulled back for the choke.

4:Same as drill 3 but we used the monkey grip when they pulld our forearm down.Using our right elbow to drive, we pulled back for the same result,until our partner tapped.

5:This time our partner was on all four’s,and we had their back(riding them like a pony).We slipped our right hand underneath and grabbed their right forearm,and got our hooks in.We then did 3 things simultaneoulsy (1)Pulled their forearm back(2)pulled our hooks back(3) thrusted our hips forward to face plant them onto the mat.Pulling our right hand out, we slipped it under their jaw,and grabbed our left shoulder, going for the Rear naked choke.

6:This time our partner was on our hooks,We grabbed their right arm and arm dragged them forward to our right hand side(making sure their right shoulder was in the centre of our chest.We posted on our right hand on the mat and swung our left leg over to take their back.From here we went into drill 5.6(b)same setup as drill 6 bit this time our partner defended by pulling in their right arm tight to themselves, as went to thrust them forward onto the mat.We rolled them over by pulling them back,and end up on our back also.Our arm still had the choke so we still kept it cranked on until they tapped.

7:Here we had side back control and our right arm was under their right arn,and our left arm was between their arms,gripping tight(Seatbelt).Our partner defended by pulling their right arm back and kicking their right leg out and rolling us over.As they came up to defend,we dropped our right hip down and pulled our right leg through to get our hooks in.From here we went for the Rear Naked Choke.

8:This time we had side back control and the same grips as frill 7, but our partner didn’t roll us.We just slipped our left hand onto otheir right shoulder,and pulled our arm up for the choke.
