Thursday the 28th of May Fundamentals
1:Tonight we started off in our partners half guard,and they have hooked our right leg.We placed weight in our shoulders, posted our left foot out to stopped from being rolled.We then walked our right foot in,and got as close to our partners ass as possible,so that our knee was above their knee.Looking down to our feet now,we used our right hand to push their left leg down,and jumped through to mount.Even if our leg was still slightly trapped,as Geoff said it was better to have 3/4 mount,then be stuck in half guard.(We also punched them in the face
2:Our partner has half guard again,and also the underhook on our right side.We placed our head on the left side,and grabbed their right arm and trapped it against us with our left hand.Tripodding up we bounced our right leg up,until our knee was above their knee.We then switched base,and slid our right knee right out(being careful not to crush their balls if they had some) right through to switch base.We then switched base back to side control.Commonly known as the ball crush drill.
3:Again our partner had half guard,and the underhook.We very nicely put our right shoulder into their left side jaw,and our right hand went under their head putting alot of pressure on their head,which they really liked.We kicked our right leg over to the right side switching base.With pressure still on their jaw,we used our right hand to push their leg freeing our right leg.Once this was free, we came around to side control.
4:We put all 3 drills together.Our partner would get half guard on us and dictate what drill we would use by getting the underhook etc.
