Thursday the 16th of July Fundamentals

“Gareth was late tonight, and it was noted”

1:Tonight we started with our feet in our partners hips and we had control of their wrist,or gi cuffs. We had 3 choices(1) Turn on right hip and put our knee across their belly, pull them forward for the sweep (2) They stand up and put 1 leg forward we would grab the leg, push the opposite hip back and put them on their butt(3)They came up onto 1 knee so we put out foot under that knee for the hook, pull their arms forward, and lift up that same knee for the hooking sweep.

2:We started off with our feet in our partners hips, and control of their sleeves. We put our left foot behind their knee, then followed with the right.Ten we put the right foot back in the hip,and follwed with the left, then put our right foot in ther left bicep, and followed with the left, then right foot back to the hip followed by the left. Also did cross grips with our hands. We did this over and over to keep our partner at bay and in control.

3:Here we had our feet in their hips again with grips. Our partner had to try and pass our guard without using their hands, and only using hips, shoulders, and legs.

4:Here we had our feet in their hips and control of sleeves. Our partner would have to pass our guard,or we would have to sweep them.

5:This time our partner would  have their feet in our hips.We grabbed their gi pants at the ankles, and stepped back pushing their legs to our right, side stepping, and sliding our right knee down the side of their left leg coming to knee ride. From knee ride we dropped down to side control.

6:Again our partner had their feet in our hips.Using both hands we wrapped them around their thighs, and crushed their legs down to the mat. With our right hand we grabbed their left leg,and walked around to our left keeping low,and ending up in side control.

7:All the Bluebelts (Except me :-) and the injured Scotty)went into the middle, and got to chose what grips and guard the wanted. They would either sweep their partner, or their partner would have to pass their guard.
