Thursday the 23rd of July Fundamentals
1:Tonight we started with our feet in our partners hips and we had control of their wrist,or gi cuffs(Thumbs out).We had 3 choices(1) Turn on right hip and put our knee across their belly, pull them forward for the sweep (2) They stand up and put 1 leg forward we would grab the leg,push the opposite hip back and put them on their butt(3)They came up onto 1 knee so we put out foot under that knee for the hook,pull their arms forward,and lift up that same knee for the hooking sweep.
2:We started off with our feet in our partners hips,and control of their sleeves.We put our left foot behind their knee,then followed with the right.Ten we put the right foot back in the hip,and followed with the left,then put our right foot in their left bicep,and followed with the left,then right foot back to the hip followed by the left.Also did cross grips with our hands.We did this over and over to keep our partner at bay and in control.
3:Here we had the grip collar and sleeve grips,and our partner stood up and put their left foot forward,which we grabbed with our left hand,at their ankle.We turned on our right side,and placed our left foot in their guts.Pulling their left foot towards us,and pushing our left foot away,we swept then on their butt,jumping to our back on our knees.
4:Again our partner stood up,and we had the collar and sleeve grips.We first let go of their right sleeve with our right ahnd and grabbed their left ankle.We let the ankle go coming back to the centre,and crossing grips with our right hand grabbing their right gi cuff,and the left hand grabbed their right ankle.Letting go of their ankle,we came back to the centre,and our left hand grabbed their right gi cuff again,and our right hand grabbed their ankle,repeating over and over again.
4B.Same grips as drill 4.Our right hand lets go and grabbed their left ankle.We turned on our right hand side and placed our right foot between their legs,and our left foot went into the middle of their guts.Using our right right calf muscle,we cut this at their right ankle,and pushed our left foot away,sweeping them over on their butt, jumping to our knees.
5:Our partner would move left or right,stand up and put a foot forward, or come up on one knee,and we we get to choose one of the above accordingly.
6:Our partner would have to pass our guard,or we would have to sweep them using one of the above,switching around when our goal was achieved.
7:Our partner was on their knees,and we had the collar and sleeve grips.We pulled their right arm forward towards us,and took our left foot off their hip,launching them to our right hand side.Once they were here,we put our left hand over their back and grabbed their left Lat,and our guts went into their right tricep with the goal to take their back.
